Grammar Review. The Port of Baltimore Workplace Skills Development Project.
Blumner, Ellen
This set of learning modules was developed during a project to deliver workplace literacy instruction to individuals employed in the more than 50 businesses related to the activities of the Port of Baltimore. It is intended to accomplish the following objectives: familiarize students with selected basic grammatical points, introduce basic punctuation usage, present basic capitalization rules, and review selected frequently misused words. The following topics are covered in the 10 modules provided: proofreading; complete sentences; subject-verb agreement; pronoun agreement; punctuation; spelling; capitalization; writing letters; and posttest. Each module contains objectives, procedures, student handouts, and learning activities/grammar exercises. Appendixes constituting approximately 40% of the module contain the following: glossary, reference information about pronouns, and grammar review answers. (MN)
