The guide contains 10 sections that cover the following topics: (1) the first week of school; (2) learning and teaching; (3) managing the classroom and the laboratory; (4) organizing course content; (5) teaching methods and instructional aids; (6) implementing competency-based education; (7) evaluating student achievement; (8) state requirements; (9) teacher licensure; and (10) a bibliography containing 25 references. Five appendixes include the following: resource material, sample safety forms, Vocational Industrial Clubs of America information, discipline, and planning considerations. (KC)
