Changing Dimensions: Managing Library and Information Services for the 1990s: A Global Perspective. Proceedings of the Asian/Pacific American Librarians Association [Conference] (Atlanta, Georgia, July 1, 1991).
Sharma, Ravindra Nath, Ed.
The theme of the 1991 Asian/Pacific American Librarians Association (APALA) was "Changing Dimensions: Managing Library Information Services for the 1990s and Beyond." Members and speakers were invited to discuss this topic from all dimensions of library and information related fields. Presenters had the options either to write on actual issues or to conceptualize a futuristic phenomenon that will affect the management of library and information services. The following papers are included in this proceedings: "The Changing Dimensions: Managing Library and Information Services for the 1990s" (W. David Penniman); "Changing Dimensions: Managing Library and Information Services for the 1990s--A Global Perspective" (Vinod Chachra); "Internationalizing Libraries, Internationalizing Librarians" (Jordan M. Scepanski); "Enhanced Access to a Science Research Collection: Serials Analytics and TOC/DOC at Caltech" (Mary E. Ito); "Impact of Cultural Diversity and Technological Changes on Library Services in Academic Libraries" (Sushila Shah); and "Island InfoFiesta, 1990: A Review" (Chih Wang). Most of the papers contain references. (JLB)
