A Program That Works: Indiana's Principals' Technology Leadership Training Program.
Rockman, Saul; Sloan, Kay Robinson
The Principals' Technology Leadership Training Program (PTLT), a collaborative venture of the Center for School Improvement and Performance and the Indiana Principals Leadership Academy, was established by the Indiana Department of Education. Principals are given four days of professional staff development which includes instructional sessions on computers and an introduction to a variety of software programs and computer hardware. This report provides a description of the program; reactions of principals to the program, including why they came, what they gained, and how they have changed; and conclusions and recommendations of the program. The PTLT has provided a focus for issues not necessarily related to technology and has tied principals into a collegial network that enables them to share information, concerns, talents, and success.
