Curriculum for Whole Language Instruction in Office Technology.

This curriculum guide contains material to supplement the language instruction in business English. It is a complete instructional package designed to improve the editing, reading, listening, and speaking skills of the office technology student. It includes a description of the rationale for the whole language approach to language instruction, a Master Lesson Plan with expected learner outcomes, the student/tutor protocol, instructions for pre- and posttests, business documents for transcription, and these evaluation instruments--Error Frequency Chart and Value Added Survey, Parts 1 and 2. The materials are designed for use in a lab setting where a teacher or tutor can work with students individually and where students have access to tape players/recorders or dictaphone equipment. One set of materials can be completed in approximately 16 hours of lab time. Two sets of materials are included. Other contents are a description of the results of a field test of the materials and data analysis. (YLB)
