Impact II was created in 1979 to reward and recognize creative New York City public school teachers and to disseminate successful programs through its teacher-to-teacher network. This catalog is a collection of profiles describing 64 exemplary programs developed by teachers in the New York City (New York) public schools. The profiles are organized by subject area and then divided by grade level. Each description headlines the program name, and then covers some or all of the following topics: (1) how it works; (2) who the staff is (describes the teachers that developed the program); (3) what you need; (4) what materials are available; (5) what else is helpful; (6) why it works; and (7) name of a teacher (with school location) to call or go to for more information about the program. The profiles themselves fall into the following categories: (1) the arts; (2) communication arts; (3) English as a Second Language; (4) health and physical education; (5) home and career education; (6) mathematics; (7) science; (8) social studies; and (9) Reebok grants for programs on social issues. Also included is a list of the IMPACT Review Committee members, a list of participating teachers, an index by borough and community school district and an index by school level and program title.
