This publication presents information on the University of Alaska Fairbanks in seven sections. The first section, "Historical and General Information" details the legal establishment, mission, historical highlights, map, organizational structure, accreditation, Board of Regents, Standing Committees and advisory groups, songs, presidents and chancellors, alumni association, honorary degrees, faculty appointments, international agreements, foundations, research units, interdisciplinary research programs, and research support. Section 2, "Academic and Assessment Information," lists information on degrees and certificates, class size, freshmen test scores, undergraduate grades, degrees by department, and alumni by current residence. The third section, "Student Information," provides data on admission, new and returning students, credit headcount, majors, ethnicity and age, credit hours, and independent learning programs. The fourth section, "Faculty and Staff Information," details information on department, race, sex, salary, tenure status, and a comparison of salaries with those at land-grant university salaries. Section 5, "Budget and Financial Information," lists appropriations history, revenues, financial aid, graduate enrollment, tuition rates, and prices. Section 6, "Research and Public Service Information," looks at fund expenditure, proposals, the top 100 institutes, library data, usage information, computing facilities, cooperative extension statistics, museum statistics and public radio and television information. The final section, "Facilities Information," looks at a building inventory, space use, capacity, enrollments and leased space. Included are extensive tables and a glossary. (JB)
