The process and procedures for the selection, support, and retention of personnel developed by the faculty personnel committee at the International High School (Long Island City, New York) are described in this publication. Initiatives included the establishment of a faculty personnel committee responsible for faculty recruitment and selection, a peer support and evaluation process, and a peer review and assessment system. Following the school's mission statement, the first section describes the peer (teacher) selection process, providing a job description, personnel commitee procedures, and a summary worksheet. The second section outlines peer support groups, focusing on role descriptions, the intervention process and intervention procedures, and self-evaluation.
