New York: The State of Learning: Statistical Profiles of Public School Districts. A Report to the Governor and the Legislature on the Educational Status of the State's Schools for 1989-90.

A statistical report, comprised largely of six tables of school district data, is presented to provide an overview of the educational status of New York State-supported elementary schools and secondary schools for the 1989-90 school year. Tables include: (1) racial/ethnic distributions of enrollment, attendance rate, dropouts, youth at risk, and high school graduates; (2) data for classroom teachers (student-teacher ratio, percent minority, annual turnover rate, median salary, certification status, median years experience, educational attainment, and expenditures per pupil and percent for major functions); (3) results of the Pupil Evaluation Program, program evaluation tests, and preliminary competency tests; (4) results of Regents Examinations in comprehensive English; global studies, United States history and government, and comprehensive French; (5) results of the Regents Examinations in comprehensive Spanish and sequential mathematics I, II, and III; and (6) results of the Regents Examinations in earth science, biology, chemistry, and physics.
