Native American Initiative--Arizona Rehabilitation Services Administration Annual Planning Meeting (1st, Flagstaff, Arizona, August 25, 1987).
Powers, Lawrence; And Others
This document reports on efforts to develop an initiative to target increased involvement of the Arizona Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) with Arizona's disabled American Indians both on and off reservations. The report summarizes comments on important issues generated during a central office planning meeting of the Arizona RSA. It presents findings from a pre-meeting survey of 11 planning cycle participants addressing needs and priorities in serving American Indians. It offers strategies identified at the planning meeting that could be implemented by RSA to expand and improve services in three categories: administration, service delivery, and training. Strategies within each of the categories are then prioritized and listed. Appendices contain the planning meeting agenda, the needs survey form, a history of vocational rehabilitation service delivery to American Indians in northern Arizona, and copies of interoffice memos.
