In August 1986, at the request of the Board of School Trustees of Nanaimo, British Columbia, a Secondary school Reorganization Task Force was established to develop an implementation plan for Grades 8-12 reorganization of four of the six secondary schools in School District 68. This report outlines how such reorganization would occur and what its implications would be. The various topics covered include: implications of grades 8-12 reorganization; proposed phase-in period; catchment areas and feeder systems; projected enrollments; school programs and course offerings; district programs and services; staffing considerations; resource needs; facilities and employment needs; costs and sources of funding; and recommendations. Included are 25 tables that display the data discussed. Also included are several appendices and a detailed summary of the task force's report. (DB)
