Materials for a workshop on teaching vocational English as a Second Language (VESL) are gathered. An annotated outline presents the content and sequence of the workshop, including an icebreaker activity, general techniques for teaching occupation-specific vocabulary, sample lesson plans and accompanying instructional materials for teaching vocabulary, procedures, and communication skills in specific occupations (upholstery, welding, auto mechanics, electronic assembly, pressure testing, cosmetology, and auto body repair).
