The ideas and concepts of Carl Jung are the basis for the materials of this curriculum guide for teaching gifted students at the secondary level. Entitled "Man and His Symbols," the guide is organized in five parts: (1) Approaching the Unconscious; (2) Ancient Myths and Modern Man; (3) The Process of Individuation; (4) Symbolism in the Visual Arts; and (5) Symbols in An Individual Analysis. Each part is organized in the following format: introduction; instructional objectives; required activities; pre-test; questions for review; extra reading, research, and projects; for discussion and evaluation; and an insight and a reaction.
