Directory and Statistics of Oregon Libraries 1990.
Scheppke, Jim, Comp.; Vogt, Valerie, Comp.
This report provides directory and statistical information that characterizes libraries in Oregon, profiling each library within its appropriate library type, i.e., public, academic, special, or state. Each of the four sections provides directory information (e.g., the library's address, telephone number, and contact librarian) and statistical tables that present data on library services, interlibrary lending, library collections, operating income, expenditures, service hours, attendance, use of volunteers, staffing, and staff salaries. A series of charts and maps indicates the governance of public libraries by county and presents an analysis of the public library statistics. This analysis includes the long- and short-term statistical trends of public libraries, sources of Oregon public library operating income in 1989-90, comparisons of public library statistics combined by county, the "top 20" ranking of public library performance in 1989-90, and 1989 Oregon public library statistics compared to those of other states. Special library directory entries also include the library hours and a statement as to whether the library is open to the public or accessible only by appointment, and the Oregon State Library section includes the names, addresses, and dates of term expirations of the state library's board of trustees and state advisory council representatives, as well as a list of Oregon's depository libraries.
