The Art of Inquiry in the Classroom: A Manual for Teaching.

This manual is intended to give novice and veteran teachers a basis for inquiry within their classrooms. The following sections are intended to guide the reader through an introduction to practicing inquiry within the classroom: Philosophical Overview, Historical Overview, Use in the Classroom, How to Establish Inquiry in Your Classroom, and Practical Applications. The sections are designed to fulfill the reader's needs in developing knowledge, experience, and then belief in this method. The final section of the manual has as its purpose the exhibition of the potential of inquiry in the lives of classroom students. Eight sample lesson plans and descriptions describing seven techniques are included. Thirteen references are attached. (MG)
