This publication is designed to direct and support instruction in an occupational spin-off area within vocational cosmetology programs in Oklahoma. This instructor guide contains three units: (1) recognizing arm/hand anatomy and disorders/diseases; (2) preparing for a manicure; and (3) preparing for a pedicure. Each instructional unit includes some or all of the basic components of a unit of instruction: (1) performance objectives; (2) suggested activities for the teacher; (3) pretest; (4) information sheets; (5) supplements; (6) activity sheets; (7) assignment sheets; (8) job sheets; (9) practical tests; (10) written tests; and (11) answers to assignment sheets and written tests. Handouts, supplements, transparency masters, and activity sheets may be included in some or all of the units. The materials contain simple graphic symbols keyed to eight basic skills: reading, writing, mathematics, science, oral communication, interpersonal, creative thinking and problem solving, and employability.
