Science Attitude Analysis of Dayton Public School Teachers in Science.

As a beginning point for the curriculum revision process of the Dayton Public Schools, the attitudes of teachers and administrators in that particular urban area were assessed. A 17-item instrument was developed for use in the assessment. The instrument was mailed to all Dayton elementary, middle, and high schools. The attitudes held by Dayton Public School teachers regarding science instruction as it is practiced in the district's elementary, middle, and high school classrooms and the aspects of science instruction viewed as important by teachers were assessed. An introduction, limitations, methods, analysis, and discussion are included. A copy of the staff survey is appended. (KR)
