A multidisciplinary educational unit featuring product safety decisions made by businesses and consumers is presented. teach critical thinking and decision making while supplementing the science, home economics, social studies, and economics curricula. The activities rely extensively, though not exclusively, on Procter & Gamble's experiences in making product safety decisions. Included is a core section of lessons from which the complementary discipline sections have evolved. The core section contains a culminating activity that can also serve as an evaluation instrument. Four complementary discipline sections supplement the core. Each activity includes an overview, the teaching time required, concepts covered in the lesson, objectives, materials, teaching strategies, readings, activity sheets, and answers to questions posed in the activity.
