This annual publication seeks to inform interested readers about important concerns of currently confronting the United States. An introduction provides: a brief discussion of individuals in the Reagan Administration; a list of the leadership positions and committees in the 100th Congress--the reader must fill in the person for each position; a description of the Supreme Court; and a discussion of the Federal Budget process. Each chapter provides basic background information, identifies key questions, and gives arguments on several sides of the issue. Domestic policy chapters are: The Economy, Education, Civil Rights, Social Programs, Health Care, Immigration, Energy, Environment, Agriculture, and Crime. The foreign policy chapters are: The Soviet Union, Defense, Central America, The Middle East, International Trade, Western Europe, Nuclear Proliferation, World Poverty and U.S. Foreign Aid, South Africa, and China.
