This booklet contains the competencies, item specifications, and sample items for the mathematics competency tests developed by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction for administration at grades 3, 7, and 10. Commonly referred to as the "shelf tests," they will be available for the first time during the 1985-86 school year. Ten competencies for grade 3, 12 for grade 7, and 12 for grade 10 are first listed. They then, for each competency, are given a brief description, sample items, content description, suggested number of items, and recommendations on question form and response form. (MNS)
