In addition, this chapter describes aspects of group assessment and emphasizes factors involved in individual diagnosis. The fourth chapter deals with basic teaching procedures for tutors, and the fifth covers aspects of teaching decoding skills and word recognition techniques. The sixth chapter describes eight comprehension skills, discusses prerequisites to effective comprehension, and provides suggestions for teaching comprehension, while the seventh concerns prior knowledge, writing, and metacognition.
