Learning How to Teach. Self-Paced Inservice Modules for Part-Time Vocational Instructors.

These self-paced inservice modules are designed to help part-time vocational instructors learn how to teach. Addressed in the individual modules are the following topics: teaching methods (an overview of teaching, the lecture and discussion method, and the demonstration method); course construction (an overview of course construction and development of course outlines); use of lesson planning (an overview of lesson planning, development of instructor lesson plans, and development of student lesson plans); and procedures for testing and evaluation (an overview of testing and evaluation, procedures to test for knowledge and theories, ways of testing for skills development, and methods of scoring and grading). Each module comprises a series of lessons containing some or all of the following: a statement of purpose, objectives, instructional text, practical application activities, a self-test, and a key to the self-test.
