This history details desegregation efforts in the Seattle (Washington) public schools, beginning with the "Brown" Decision in 1954, through 1981, the year that the Board of Education adopted a long-range facilities/desegregation plan. The first four chapters deal chronologically with desegregation events, activities, and plans that took place or were implemented from 1954-1963 (Chapter I), 1963-1973 (Chapter II), 1973-1978 (Chapter III), and 1978-1981 (Chapter IV).
