Objectives and activities for each of the strands are delineated for five curriculum areas (sample subtopics are in parentheses): social studies (families, conservation, explorers, Latin American history, and U.S. history); English (dictionary skills, parts of speech, research skills); science (electricity, dinosaurs, food chains, human body, archaeology, prairie dogs); reading (comprehension, mythology, historical fiction, Shakespeare, and folklore).
