Second Expert Consultation on RAMP (RAMP II). (West Berlin, Germany, June 9-11, 1982). Final Report.
United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization, Paris (France).
Twelve experts from United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) member countries were invited participants in a meeting which was organized to assess the progress and results of UNESCO's Records and Archives Management Programme (RAMP II) since an organizational meeting in May 1979, and to provide advice for future directions for the program. RAMP's overall objectives include the promotion of a full awareness of the value and uses of records and archives as basic information resources, and the provision of assistance to UNESCO member states in the organization and development of relevant systems and services. The report of the RAMP II meeting includes: (1) introductory material; (2) descriptions of the origin, scope, and implementation of RAMP; (3) a list of RAMP implementation activities from 1979 to 1982; (4) a list of projects and activities proposed for inclusion in RAMP since its inception in 1979; (5) a list of methods, norms, and standards being developed as part of the RAMP program; (6) a summary of discussions from the meeting; (7) a brief description of its closing session; and (8) a list of recommendations for future RAMP II activities. Appendices comprise the meeting agenda, a list of meeting participants (including observers from member nations and international organizations), a summary by theme of projects and activities included in the original RAMP program, and other related documents.
