Day-Programs for Moderately Behaviorally Disturbed Preschoolers in the United States of America: A Guide to Literature and a Questionnaire Study.

A review of the literature on treatment for moderately behaviorally disturbed preschoolers addresses rationale and prevalent approaches, particularly therapeutic preschool programs and day care centers with special therapeutic interventions. Findings of a questionnaire study involving 33 therapeutic preschool programs are reported in terms of participants' behavioral deficits and excesses, program emphases, approaches, and services for parents. Among appended information are an additional reference listing and an annotated listing of early programs for emotionally disturbed preschoolers. The questionnaire is also appended. (CL)
