Success for Students with Visual or Hearing Impairments. Sources to Upgrade Career Counseling and Employment of Special Students.
Lombana, Judy H.
As one of the publications of the Florida Sources to Upgrade the Career Counseling and Employment of Special Students (SUCCESS) Project, this guide is designed to provide school counselors, occupational specialists, and other guidance personnel with basic information and listings of resources concerning the career guidance needs of handicapped students. This handbook addresses the special needs of students with visual or hearing impairments. The first six of the guide's seven chapters cover the following topics: the counselor and students with visual or hearing impairments, counseling students with visual or hearing impairments, developing positive attitudes toward such students, career and educational planning, psychoeducational assessment (including lists of tests available for visually or hearing impaired students), and working with parents. The seventh chapter lists resources available for working with disabled students. A bibliography completes the handbook. (KC)
