These five booklets on parent involvement in education are part of a series of 22 booklets designed specifically to help them to learn. In "Parents: Your School Improvement Can Help Your Child" (booklet #4), the school setting is explained and specific recommendations are made about parental involvement in the school and how children can benefit from such involvement. In booklet #8, titled "Preventive Discipline and Positive Rewards for Your Children," suggestions are made which can help parents and teachers use preventive discipline and positive rewards with children and students of all ages. "Parents and Students: Learn How to Study and Improve your Grades" (booklet #11) discusses practical ways to help students develop better studying and learning skills in order to improve school grades. "Teaching Values to Your Children (booklet #12) gives examples and ideas about how parents can help their children to develop values that will enhance their lives. Booklet #13, "Parents as Teachers: Help Your Children Become Better Readers," specifies ways parents can help their children to improve their reading skills. All booklets are written with the same text in both English and Spanish, are easy to read, and include illustrations. (MP)
