Papers on national bibliography which were presented at the 1982 International Federation of Libray Associations (IFLA) conference include: (1) "Canadiana 1867-1900: Monographs or the Past in Modern Dress," a description by Michel Theriault (Canada) of the work of the Retrospective National Bibliography Division of the National Library of Canada; (2) "The Bibliography of Quebec 1821-1967," a discussion by Louise Filion (Canada) of the retrospective bibliographic program at the Bibliotheque Nationale de Quebec; (3) "In Search of Newfoundlandia--the O'Dea Retrospective Bibliography," a description by Anne Alexander (Canada) of the unpublished retrospective bibliography on Newfoundland which was begun in 1955 by Agnes O'Dea and which is being continued by the Centre for Newfoundland Studies; and (4) "Machine-Readable National Bibliographies in the Framework of the International MARC Network," a discussion by Kurt Nowak (Federal Republic of Germany) of the limited use of online as opposed to printed national bibliographies, with examples drawn from experience at the Deutsche Bibliothek and the "International Study of Copyright of Bibliographic Records in Machine-Readable Form" by King Research, Inc.
