CSMP in Action. Comprehensive School Mathematics Program.
CEMREL, Inc., St. Louis, MO.
This booklet is designed to provide information on the Comprehensive School Mathematics Program (CSMP) elementary school mathematics curriculum. It attempts to capture the excitement of a workshop experience as well as convey a wealth of substantive information. Paralleling the format of a typical workshop, it presents in a descriptive format a demonstration and a group lesson and discussion for each topic, with a set of questions and answers included for the first topic. The five topics are: the language of the Papy minicomputer, the language of arrows, the language of strings, detective stories, and the hand calculator. The booklet concludes with a section on implementation issues, concerned with questions often asked by schools concerning the adoption of the CSMP program. (MNS)
