SSC 254 Screen-Based Word Processors: Production Tests. The Lanier Word Processor.
Moyer, Ruth A.
Designed for use in Trident Technical College's Secretarial Lab, this series of 12 production tests focuses on the use of the Lanier Word Processor for a variety of tasks. In tests 1 and 2, students are required to type and print out letters. Tests 3 through 8 require students to reformat a text; make corrections on a letter; divide and combine paragraphs; resequence paragraphs and lists; center, underscore, and capitalize; and create right-justified margins. Tests 9 through 11 focus on the use of diskettes, instructing students to enter a two-page text onto the diskette, transfer materials from diskette to diskette, and insert additional material onto a pre-recorded diskette. Finally, test 12 requires students to use a "list/merge" program to insert variable information. An introduction to the Secretarial Science Instructional Laboratory, describing its purpose, operations, equipment, independent study opportunities, testing center functions, and benefits, is included.
