Educational Opportunity Fund Junior High Program Evaluation. Summary.
MacKay, D. A.; Doherty, M.
In 1979, a special program was implemented for junior high students unable to benefit from regular programming due to a failure to cope with regular school courses, irregular and non-attendance, disruptive behavior, or poor self-concept. Quantitative and qualitative data were obtained from site visits, achievement tests in reading and mathematics, a questionnaire survey, a random sample of student case studies, and an analysis of project files. It was concluded that the Educational Opportunities Fund (E.O.F.) program is effective and appropriate. Among the recommendations included are the continuation of the E.O.E. (junior high) program and the development of a similar program at the senior high school level. This report contains a comprehensive bibliography, the evaluation instruments, and the achievement test results. (Author/PN)
