Block IV on fixtures and appurtenances deals with installation of bathtubs and showers, water closets, urinals, lavatories, and water lines; inspection and maintenance of plumbing systems; recovery and restoration; and planning and layout of plumbing systems. Addressed in course block V, on utility equipment, are the following topics: winterization of piping; maintenance of valves, sewers, and grease traps; emergency maintenance and exterior piping, fire hydrants, and sprinkler systems; utility equipment; and corrosion control.
