This instructional package for laundry/dry cleaning supervisor training has been adapted from military curriculum materials for use in vocational and technical education programs. The course is designed to train personnel to perform duties in the supervision and operation of a laundry/dry cleaning facility. This instructional package contains both teacher and student materials. The printed instructor materials include an outline of student qualitative requirements and a plan of instruction detailing the units of instruction, criterion objectives, duration of the lessons, and support materials needed. Student materials follow the plan of instruction. The student study guide begins each lesson with objectives and includes information sheets with illustrations. The following lesson topics are included in four units: security control procedures and sanitation standards; customer relations, service orientation, and standards of conduct; assignment and coordination of personnel and work; checking of equipment for compliance with safety standards; maintenance of laundry marking machine; receipt/inspection of laundry/dry cleaning; operation and maintenance of washer, dryer, presses, and dry cleaning unit; manual and automatic shirt folding; laundry schedules and logs; lost or damaged laundry/dry cleaning; flatwork ironer; operation of dry cleaning plant; determination and use of spot removers; assembling and issuing; and classification, stowage, and storage of laundry/dry cleaning material.
