Challenge!, v11 n9 Sep 1980
This issue of the official magazine of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is written to stimulate nationwide interest in solving housing and urban problems by dealing with housing alternatives available to the elderly, e.g., shared housing and small group homes. HUD policies which help the elderly to maintain or upgrade their homes are examined. Other articles describe the Elderly Services Delivery System in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and the HUD economic development program in Buffalo, New York. The concerns of the elderly voiced at various HUD forums are discussed and a summary of HUD housing units for the elderly is included. (JAC)
