Handbook for Women in Transition. Book II--Being a Positive Person.
Novak, Kathy
Based on a survey of displaced homemaker service providers, this handbook provides techniques that can be used to promote positive thinking skills among displaced homemakers/persons in transition. The materials are designed to help women in transition to build their self-image and confidence after experiencing the impact of displacement. Exercises in the guide are geared toward getting the participants actively involved in the image-building process. Each exercise, when completed, is to be discussed in a group setting to allow participants an opportunity to share experiences. Following an overview of the guide and suggestions for leading workshops, the guide contains exercises on self-image, self-evaluation, decision making, assertiveness, depression, and role playing.
