Project Employability: Employability Curriculum.
Burrell, Lewis P.; Talarico, Robert L.
The fourth of six products from Project Employability (Ohio) outlines instructional goals and objectives designed to improve employment skills of high functioning trainable and low functioning educable mentally retarded high school students. The employability philosophy incorporates statements regarding career exploration, practice as a means to maximize learning and enhance skill development, and attainment of goals. Goal statements are listed for 21 employability skill areas including self expression, accuracy, dexterity, and stamina. The bulk of the document contains the curriculum addressing 21 employability skill areas and 10 levels of performance within each skill area. The curriculum is organized to provide the program planner with information for individualized education program development and classroom instruction. The curriculum contains an annual goal for each of the 10 levels of performance of each employability skill, two short term instructional objectives for each annual goal, classroom instructional objectives, classroom activities, and employability curriculum resources.
