The introduction contains the preface and strategies for teaching learning skills. The major part of the document focuses on using resources and describes and lists numerous activities for learning about the parts of a book, dictionaries, encyclopedias, periodicals, maps and globes, atlases, almanacs, handbooks, and yearbooks, audiovisuals, the Dewey Decimal system, the card catalog, and shelf arrangement.
