Teacher Energy Education Survey.
Ohio State Dept. of Education, Columbus. Energy Assistance Office.
During 1980-81, the Energy Assistance Office of the Ohio Department of Education conducted a survey to determine the existing status of energy education awareness and needs among Ohio teachers. Nearly 1700 teachers engaged in or interested in energy education returned questionnaires, and the results of the study are summarized in this report. Responding teachers overwhelmingly agreed that energy education is an important curriculum area, but 74% indicated that they do not have energy education materials. Analysis of survey data also revealed the kinds of inservice education and other assistance needed by Ohio teachers. A copy of the questionnaire is included, along with a breakdown of data by numbers and percentages and a list of open-ended comments. (WB)
