Day Camp Manual: A Study of Mandatory Standards and Desirable Camping Practices for Children's Day Camps. Book V. Revised 1974.
The final book in a 5-book day camp manual is a questionnaire developed by the Ontario Camping Association to help directors of children's summer day camps check camp operations, principles, and procedures, and to help them determine how and where a camp can be improved. The questionnaire, to be completed by the director with the aid of another camp director who is a member of the Association's Standards Committee Visiting Team, consists of two parts. The 21 Mandatory Standards must be certified by the camp director and verified by the visitor in order for the camp to merit and maintain eligibility for Association accreditation. The Camping Practices part contains a 113-item questionnaire regarding basic camp information, health and sanitation, transportation, administration, safety, camp site facilities, equipment, program, personnel, and overall camp evaluation. Instructions for questionnaire completion are included. (SB)
