Spanish K-Grade 2: A Guide for Teachers.

This guide identifies objectives for the teaching of Spanish in kindergarten through Grade 2 and provides ideas for developing language and culture skills in children. Included are: (1) a rationale for beginning second language study in the primary grades; (2) a description of the characteristics of five- to seven-year-olds and the type of program development that the characteristics indicate; (3) program objectives; and (4) learning activities for each grade level. The emphasis is on listening and speaking skills development. Appendices include instructions, drawings, vocabulary lists, and other basic material and information needed for the activities in the main part of the guide.
