The booklet discusses the role of the Educational Testing Service (ETS) in research on aspects of special education. Among research projects noted are those undertaken at the Institute for the Study of Exceptional Children: studies comparing premature with normal infants, evaluating the Infant Assessment Battery, measuring mother-infant interaction, and studying learning to learn strategies with handicapped children. Other ETS projects described include IQ testing and the gifted, identification of learning disabled (LD) students, correlation between LD and delinquency, and the LD child's relationship with his family.
