Moore, Royce
This report reviews the combined efforts of vocational schools in Kanawha County and Putnam County and the West Virginia State Colleges Community College Component to develop and implement articulation agreements in selected occupational programs. It discusses experiences and views of others in West Virginia and other states that guided the project. Six approaches to student transition are summarized. The next section outlines both facilitative conditions that occurred prior to and continued during the project and potential barriers to the project's development of articulation agreements. In the next section focus is on actions taken to enhance negotiations and to facilitate the development of written agreements. Topics covered include awarding of credit and negotiation procedures. Essential elements of the articulation agreement are then discussed, including purpose, rationale, objectives, procedures, and signatures. (YLB)
