Supplement to the State 1201 Commission March 1978 Report. Postsecondary Educational Supply and Occupational Demand in Texas for the Period of 1977-1983.
Texas Coll. and Univ. System, Austin. Coordinating Board.
Brief projections of the Texas labor market conditions for 1980-83, correlated with the state's supply of degree or vocational program graduates during that period, are given for each in a wide range of disciplines, subject fields, and vocational specialties available through public and private institutions in the state. In a section on degree graduates, this information is given for both bachelor's degree holders and professional/graduate degree holders: short-term employment opportunities (number of jobs); projected change in employment opportunities through 1983; market ready supply expected in 1980; total job openings in Texas; percentage of job openings in directly-related, closely-related, and generally-related occupations; and a listing of these related occupations. Similar information is given for vocational education program graduates in a separate section. An appended table makes cross-references between occupations and the related vocational and senior college program types. Data are drawn from a state survey and the tabulations of a supply-demand computer program. (MSE)
