A four part survey involving 30 learning disabled (LD) adults was undertaken to investigate Ss' attitudes toward being LD, toward best sources of help, toward cause of disability, and thinking styles. Among findings were that help from other LD people was considered the best source of help, that half the group attributed the LD problem to a physical brain injury, that responses supported a hereditary predisposition as a possible causitive agent of both stress and brain functioning problems, and that a common extreme cognitive style exists.
