Basic Training Course in Systematic Curriculum Development. Study Guide.
Matiru, Barbara, Ed.; Sachsenmeier, Peter, Ed.
This booklet consists of introductory statements to prospective students in the University of Nairobi's Postgraduate Diploma in Curriculum Development Program, and provides an outline of the course content of the nine month program. The course is divided into three phases: correspondence, residential, and field work. During the correspondence phase, participants study general background on curriculum development, introduction to methods and processes, and instructional media. The objective of the residential phase is to provide the participants with a thorough understanding of the general principles of curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation, while studying at the University of Nairobi. The field work phase enables the students to practice the knowledge and skills they have acquired during the first two phases by carrying out independent projects of their choice. Suggestions for these projects are included. (FG)
