Albany, New York: A Guide to Selected Local Records.
State Univ. of New York, Albany. School of Library Science.
Local records held by units with the County and City of Albany, New York, are identified and listed, as well as information about the availability of documents to the public, departmental fees, and the presence of photocopying equipment. The records consist of a wide variety of documents which contain information pertinent to the particular holding unit, and include items such as budget and payroll records, minutes of meetings, environmental and historical files, and many other kinds of documents. The guide is arranged first by the larger governing unit--the county, the city, the Capital District area, and towns and villages. These are then broken down alphabetically by department or agency, and the types of documents available are also listed alphabetically by department or agency. A glossary of terms related to the documents is included as well as an index to the guide. Organizational charts for the county and city governments are provided in the appendix. (BK)
