This final report contains information on the school-based portion of the Saskatoon Region Project, a program designed to develop effective services for educationally handicapped children in rural areas around Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (Canada). Chapters of the report provide descriptions of early initiatives that led to the project's conception, the evaluation plan, the context in which the program was formed, sources of program input, the process of implementing a two-stage inservice program for teachers and a learning assistance center, evaluative information from teachers and school principals, and an overall evaluation with conclusions and commentary. A bibliography and appendixes containing interview forms used in the project's evaluation are attached. (RL)
