Rochte, Newton C.
Educational Documentation and Information, n215 1980
This bibliography on recurrent education contains annotations of 307 publications printed for the most part during 1973-78. (Recurrent education refers to "a global system containing a variety of programs which distribute education and training at different levels, by formal and nonformal means, over the life-span of the individual in a recurring way alternated with work or other activities.") An introduction describes the broad group of ideas to which recurrent education belongs, and selections in the bibliography also include some pertaining to these related fields: continuous education, lifelong education, and permanent education. Publications are divided into these nine categories: (1) General, (2) International, (3) Africa, (4) Arab States, (5) Asia and Oceania, (6) Europe, (7) Latin America, (8) North America, and (9) Just Published. Within these categories, materials may be further divided by specific country. Publications are listed alphabetically by author or organization within (sub)categories. Citations include author/organization, title, publisher or source, number of pages or (for works in composite publications) page numbers, and annotation. Although all selections are not available in English, the annotations are written in English. An authors and editors index is provided. (YLB)
