Vocational Education Program/Course Inventory Form PCI. Explanation and Instructional Manual.
California Occupational Information Coordinating Committee, Sacramento.; Ventura County Superintendent of Schools, CA.
This manual for teachers, administrators, and counselors both explains the Program/Course Inventory (PCI), a data collection instrument, and provides instructions for completing the PCI form. The first section describes the PCI developed by the Ventura County Superintendent of Schools staff to collect data that define vocational education instructional programs in terms of the courses comprising them and the programs' occupational objectives. Section 2 lists seven PCI applications: program/course approval, program articulation, delineation of function, analysis of program operation, analysis of program curriculum, allocation of resources, and occupational counseling and guidance. The third and major section provides instructions (with incorporated definitions) for completing the form in a suggested step-by-step procedure. (Twenty-two steps are involved.) Users may modify the form to meet unique needs of their local educational agency. PCI forms are appended. (YLB)
